Singer Sheryl Crow and Dr. Jessica Shepherd come to SIDEWALKS to discuss breast cancer and a screening device that’s more comfortable and gives accurate mammograms.

SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro talks to singer Sheryl Crow about her breast cancer discovery and how she coped, as well as her music and her “final” album, “Threads.” Sheryl is joined by Dr. Jessica Shepherd, OB/GYN, who talks about the importance of breast cancer screenings and the SmartCurve™ system, a device that’s more comfortable and gives accurate mammograms.

Mini-Biographies:
Born in Kennett, Missouri, Sheryl Crow is a very successful singer / songwriter, who has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. With eleven studio albums released, some of her hit singles include “All I Wanna Do,” “If It Makes You Happy,” “My Favorite Mistake,” and the theme song for the James Bond film, “Tomorrow Never Dies.” Crow has received nine Grammy Awards®.

Dr. Jessica Shepherd is an OB/GYN and women’s health expert. She is also the founder of the online women health forum, Her Viewpoint. As an OB/GYN, she practices at the University of Illinois at Chicago and also serves as the Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Dr. Shepherd has written in various journals including “Women’s Day,” “Women’s Health,” “Self,” “Family Circle,” “Parents,” “LifeScript.com,” “Heart and Soul,” “Best Health,” “Essence,” and “WebMD. Dr. Shepherd has been seen on the various networks and TV shows, such as “The Today Show,” “Dr. Oz,” “Steve Harvey,” and on WCIU in Chicago, where she is a monthly health contributor and guest co-host. In addition to radio programs nationwide, Dr. Shepherd also gives lectures nationally and internationally on fibroids and myomectomies and women’s health issues.
