SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales interviews Ralph Fiennes about being a director vs. an actor, shooting a film in multiple languages, and how it was working with Oleg Ivenko, who is making his acting debut as ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev.
Mini-Biography:
Born in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, Ralph Fiennes is an actor, producer and director. Some of his highlighted and popular roles are Nazi war criminal Amon Göth in “Schindler’s List,” Count Almásy in “The English Patient,” Lord Voldemort in the “Harry Potter” film series, and Gareth Mallory / M in the “James Bond” films. Other films in his impressive career include “Quiz Show,” “Strange Days,” “The End of the Affair,” “Red Dragon,” “Maid in Manhattan,” “The Constant Gardener,” “In Bruges,” “The Reader,” “Clash of the Titans,” “Great Expectations,” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” Fiennes used his voice to play Rameses in “The Prince of Egypt” and Alfred Pennyworth in “The Lego Batman Movie.” As a director, he made his debut with “Coriolanus,” which was followed by “The Invisible Woman” and “The White Crow.”
