Lee interviews Jerry Mathers about his early start in show business at age 2; getting the role of “The Beaver;” his favorite episode/memory; and why we haven’t seen episodes of the sequel series, “The New Leave It to Beaver,” on TV anymore.
Mini-Biography:
Born in Sioux City, Iowa, Jerry Mathers is remembered for playing the youngest son, Theodore Cleaver, on the classic series “Leave It to Beaver” and TV-movie / revival series, “Still The Beaver” / “The New Leave It to Beaver.” Some of the movies he was seen in included “This is My Love,” “Men of the Fighting Lady,” “The Seven Little Foys,” “The Trouble with Harry,” “Back to the Beach,” “Bigger Than Life,” “This is My Love,” “That Certain Feeling,” “The Shadow on the Window,” “The Deep Six,” “Better Luck Tomorrow,” “Angels with Angles,” “Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector,” and “Will to Power.” He also starred in the video shorts, “The Hitchhiker,” and “Lucky Day.” On TV, Mathers appeared in episodes of “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose,” “Vengeance Unlimited,” “The Love Boat,” “Lassie,” “My Three Sons,” “Diagnosis Murder,” and “Married…with Children.” In 1998, he released his memoirs, “And Jerry Mathers as The Beaver.”
