In this extended interview, SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro talks to Aloe Blacc about starting his musical career, what’s upcoming, and participating in “America’s Musical Journey,” a 3D documentary (for IMAX ® and giant screen theaters) that take viewers on a cross-country adventure through the musical heritage of America and the cultural cities where America’s music was born.
Mini-Biography:
Grew up in Laguna Hills, California, Aloe Blacc is a musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. As a solo artist, he found major hits with singles “I Need a Dollar” and “The Man,” as well as for writing and performing vocals on Avicii’s “Wake Me Up.” Some of his solo albums are: “Shine Through” (2006), “Good Things” (2010), and “Lift Your Spirit” (2013). Blacc is also a member of musical duo Emanon and part of Roseaux, an alternative French music project.
