SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro talks to actor Malcolm McDowell about his 50-plus years in show business, Stanley Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange,” his favorite villian role, doing voice work, abnd starring in Amazon’s “Mozart in the Jungle” as Thomas Pembridge.
Mini-Biography:
Born in Horsforth, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, U.K., Malcolm McDowell has been a working actor for over 50 years. He made his film debut in 1968’s “if….” as Mick Travis, a character that would appear in sequels “O Lucky Man!” and “Britannia Hospital.” One of his best known roles was in “Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange.” Some of McDowell’s films include “Figures in a Landscape,” “The Raging Moon,” “Caligula,” “The Passage,” “Time After Time,” “Cat People,” “Star Trek Generations,” “Tank Girl,” “Halloween,” “The Book of Eli,” “Silent Hill: Revelation 3D,” “Home Alone: The Holiday Heist,” “Some Kind of Beautiful,” “Easy A,” and “The Artist.” McDowell had recurring roles in TV series such as “Entourage,” “Heroes,” and “The Mentalist.” Additionally, he narrated the documentary “The Compleat Beatles.” In 2013, McDowell received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
