Special Feature: Jose Canseco Documentary Premiere

Famed baseball player and former “Bash Brother” Jose Canseco returned to the San Francisco Bay Area to attend the exclusive red carpet premiere of Bill McAdams Jr’s film,  “Jose Canseco: The Truth Hurts.” SIDEWALKS has interviews with Canseco, the director, and the entire Q&A session following the screening.

On June 26, 2016, Concord, CA was the official premiere site for the film documentary “Jose Canseco: The Truth Hurts.”

The SIDEWALKS ENTERTAINMENT crew attended the exclusive red carpet premiere, where host Richard R. Lee and correspondent Carolina Guzman interview with Canseco and director McAdams.  Videographer J.P. Langston also recorded the entire Q&A session following the screening. Moderated by 95.7 The Game’s Chris Townsend, the panel included Canseco, director McAdams, producer Therese Moncrief, and executive producer MJ Bentley.

Written and directed by Bill McAdams, Jr., the film spotlights the life of the 1986 American League Rookie of the Year and two-time World Series Champion, whose professional career was damaged (and blackballed) in Major Leagues Baseball after speaking out over the use of performance-enhancing steroids within the league. In the film, Canseco, part of the Oakland Athletics in 1985–92 and 1997, addresses some of the most controversial questions surrounding his life and his baseball career. “Jose Canseco: The Truth Hurts” is the winner of the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival’s “Moxie Award,” San Antonio Film Festival’s “Best Feature Narrative” and “Audience Choice Award: Best Documentary Feature,” and “Best Documentary” from the Boston International Festival.
