In this extended interview, SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro talks to recording artists Rob Thomas and Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz about their musical career, meeting each other for the first time, and going on concert together.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Adam Duritz is known for being the frontman and vocalist for the and Counting Crows. Their album studio titles include “August and Everything After” (1993), “Recovering the Satellites” (1996), “This Desert Life” (1999), “Hard Candy,” (2002), “Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings” (2008), “Underwater Sunshine” (2012), and “Somewhere Under Wonderland” (2014). In his early years, he sang and wrote for a few San Francisco Bay Area bands, including Mod-L Society and Sordid Humor. He has collaborated with other bands and singers, like The Wallflowers, Ryan Adams, Dashboard Confessional and Nanci Griffith, as well as contributed singles for films “ Josie and the Pussycats” and “Shrek 2.”
Born in Landstuhl, West Germany, Rob Thomas is known for being the lead singer and songwriter for Matchbox Twenty. Some of their hit singles include “Push,” “3AM,” “Real World,” “Back 2 Good,” “Bent,” “If You’re Gone,” “Mad Season,” “Disease,” “Unwell,” “Bright Lights,” “How Far We’ve Come”,” and “She’s So Mean.” As a solo artist, he has released three albums: “… Something to Be” (2005), “Cradlesong” (2009), and “The Great Unknown” (2015). His single “Lonely No More” became a top hit for him. Thomas has wrote songs for Willie Nelson, Mick Jagger, Marc Anthony, Pat Green, Taylor Hicks, Travis Tritt and Daughtry.
