In an extended version of the interview, SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro interviews actress Susan Sarandon and director / writer Lorene Scafaria about their film, “The Meddler,” as well as Sarandon’s on her daytime drama “A World Apart” and Scafaria on her career start.

Born in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York City, Susan Sarandon is an award-winning actress, who received Best Actress awards for “Dead Man Walking” (Academy Award, Screen Actors Guild) and “The Client” (BAFTA), as well as a long list of nominations. Some of her movies include “Joe,” “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” “Atlantic City,” “Thelma & Louise,” “Lorenzo’s Oil,” “Pretty Baby,” “The Hunger,” “The Witches of Eastwick,” “Bull Durham,” “White Palace,” “Little Women,” “Stepmom,” “Igby Goes Down,” “Enchanted,” “The Lovely Bones,” “Arbitrage,” “Snitch,” “Cloud Atlas,” and “Tammy.” Some of her appearances on TV include daytime dramas “A World Apart” and “Search For Tomorrow”; miniseries “AD” and “Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune”; comedies “The Simpsons,” “Friends,” “Malcolm In The Middle,” “30 Rock,” and “Mike and Molly”; TV movies “Bernard and Doris,” “The Last of the Belles,” “Mussolini and I,” “Womem of Valor,” “Earthly Possessions,” “Ice Bound: A Woman’s Survival at the South Pole,” and “You Don’t Know Jack; and dramas “Rescue Me,” and “ER.” Outside of films, Sarandon She was the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and received the Action Against Hunger Humanitarian Award.
Born in born and raised in Holmdel Township, New Jersey, Lorene Scafaria is a screenwriter, actress, singer, and film director. She was a writer for “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist” and the director and writer for “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.” Her other screenwriting credits include “The Mighty Flynn,”” “Man And Wife,” “The Marla Ruzicka Story,” and “40 Days Of Dating.” Scafania also executive produced “Ricki and the Flash.” On TV, she was a consulting producer and writer for “Ben and Kate,” writer for “Childrens Hospital,” and episodic director for “New Girl.” In music, Scafaria recorded an album called “Garden Party” and her original song “28” appeared in the closing credits of “Whip It!”
