In this 2011 interview with SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes, Melissa Joan Hart talks about her roles in “Clarissa Explains It All,” “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” and “Melissa and Joey,” her other business ventures, and dancing on “Dancing with the Stars” with professional dancer Mark Ballas. As part of the promotional tour, Melissa tells us about her involvement with BeechNut’s campaign to combat childhood hunger by sharing a virtual jar of baby food through the ‘A Jar For A Jar’ program.
Mini-Biography:
Born in Smithtown, New York, Melissa Joan Hart is a very familiar actress, as well as producer, director and business woman.
After appearing in commercials (around 25 commercials before the age of five) and on Broadway, Melissa found fame as Clarissa on “Clarissa Explains It All” (1990 – 1994) on Nickelodeon. The next year, Melissa played Sabrina in a Showtime TV-movie called “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” which became a weekly sitcom for seven seasons on ABC and The WB.
In 2009, Melissa was a celebrity contestant on season 9 of “Dancing with the Stars.”
Other guest-starring roles include “Another World,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “The 70’s Show,” “Just Shoot Me!,” “Superman,” “Clueless,” “Boy Meets World,” “Teen Angel,” “The Equalizer,” and “Touched by an Angel.”,
On the big screen, Melissa starred in the romantic comedy “Drive Me Crazy.”
Currently, Melissa co-stars in the sitcom “Melissa & Joey,” with actor Joey Lawrence on ABC Family.
