Mini-Biography:
Born in Spangler, Pennsylvania, Chris Columbus is a director, screenwriter and producer. He worked as a screenwriter with Amblin Entertainment on the films “Gremlins,” “The Goonies,” and “Young Sherlock Holmes. As a director, Columbus’ projects include “Home Alone,” “Only the Lonely,” “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” “Mrs. Doubtfire,” ”Nine Months,” “Stepmom,” “Bicentennial Man,” “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “Rent,” “I Love You Beth Cooper,” “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief,” and “Pixels.” He also produced “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters,” “Night at the Museum,” ”Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” and received an Academy Award nomination for producing “The Help.”
