SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes talks to the actress about being recognized by fans, appearing in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds,” and playing Detective Sonya Cross in her FX series, “The Bridge.”
Mini-Biography:
Born in in Algermissen, Germany, Diane Kruger is an actress, who started her career in modeling. After appearing in French films, including “Mon Idole,” she found major fame playing Helen of Sparta in “Troy” and as Bridget von Hammersmark in “Inglourious Basterds.” She also played the role of Dr. Abigail Chase in “National Treasure” and sequel “National Treasure: Book of Secrets.” Kruger played a variety of characters named Anna in “Mr. Nobody,” “Copying Beethoven,” and “Joyeux Noël.” Other film roles include The Seeker/Lacey in “The Host,” Mirjana in “The Hunting Party,” Diane in “Inhale,” Julie in “Michel Valliant,” Lisa in “Wicker Park,” and Gina in “Unknown.” In 2010, she made a guest appearance as Miranda Green in “Fringe.” “The Bridge” is her first regular TV series role. In 2005, she was named number 50th on the Maxim Hot 100 Women ranking.
