Meeting John Malkovich
Born in Christopher, Illinois, John Malkovich
is an actor, producer and director.
In 1984, John appeared with Dustin Hoffman in the
Broadway revival of "Death of a Salesman." A year
later, "Salesman" was made into a TV-movie in which
he won an Emmy® Award for. His big-screen debut
earned him an Academy Award® Nomination for best
supporting actor in "Places in the Heart" (1984).
Other films in TV and movie include "The Killing
Fields" (1984), "The Glass Menagerie (1987),"
"Dangerous Liaisons (1988)," "Heart of Darkness"
(1993), "Of Mice and Men" (1992), "Con Air" (1997),
"The Man in the Iron Mask" (1998), "Rounders"
(1998), "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
(2005), "Beowulf" (2007), and "Being John Malkovich"
(1999), a film he played a slight variation of
himself.
John's directorial debut was "The Dancer Upstairs,"
released in 2002. He was nominated for a Golden
Globe® and again for an Academy Award® for the film,
"In the Line of Fire (1993)."
