Shawn on being a gold medalist at the 2008 Olympics® games

Born in West Des Moines, Iowa, Shawn Johnson is an American gymnast.

Some of her highlights include being the 2007 all-around World Champion,  the 2007 and 2008 U.S. all-around champion, and the 2008 Olympic women's balance beam gold medalist and the individual all-around silver medalist.

In 2009, she completed and won on ABC's Dancing With The Stars.

Speaking with SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes, Shawn, who is 16 at the time of the 2008 interview, talks about being in the sport, what she wants to do following her career in gymnastic, and, as part of the promotional tour, the "What You Do Matters" awareness campaign to educate women on reducing cancer risks.
