Doctor Who (2010) In a rare United States TV
interview, Doctor Who stars Matt Smith
(plays the 11th Doctor) and Karen Gillan
(companion Amy Pond) talk about starring in the
long-running international hit. Majority of the
interview with host Cindy Rhodes has the young stars responding to Doctor Who fan questions.

Mini-Biographies:
Born and raised in Northampton, Matt Smith
was an aspiring youth footballer until a back injury
in 2003. Matt became an actor, who played Jim Taylor
in the BBC adaptations of Phillip Pullman's "The
Ruby in the Smoke" and "The Shadow in the North" and
as Danny in the BBC series Party Animals. He
has guest-starred in Secret Diary of a Call Girl
and The Street. Some of his theatrical work
include "Fresh Kills," "That Face," "The History
Boys," and "Swimming with Sharks." Matt was
announced as the 11th Doctor for Doctor Who
in January 2009,
with a first appearance in part two of the 2010
special, "The End of Time."
Born and raised in Inverness, Scotland, Karen
Gillan is an actress and model, who has appeared
in The Kevin Bishop Show, Rebus, and
Harley Street. She had previously appeared in
an earlier Doctor Who episode called "The
Fires of Pompeii," where she had a minor role as a
soothsayer, before she joined the 11th Doctor
(Smith) as companion Amy Pond in his regular
adventures in 2010.
