SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro interviews Metallica band members at the San Francisco red carpet for “Metallica: Through The Never,” an IMAX concert/feature film featuring the music of Metallica intermixed with a surreal adventure with a young roadie (Dane DeHaan), who is sent on a mission to retrieve a particular item. Additionally on the red carpet, Veronica talks to “Through The Never” director Nimród Antal (“Predators”), producer Charlotte Huggins (“Journey to the Center of the Earth”), and film stars DeHaan (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2”) and Mackenzie Gray (“Man of Steel”).
Mini-Biography:
Metallica is one of the best known heavy metal band in the music industry. Formed in 1981, the group started with drummer Lars Ulrich and rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist James Hetfield, after Hetfield responded to a newspaper advertisement by Ulrich. While there have been other members in the group, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo have been part of the current lineup since 2003.
As of 2013, according to Wikipedia, Metallica has released nine studio albums, four live albums, six compilation albums, one cover album, one collaboration album, and numerous singles and videos. Some of their albums, include “Kill ‘Em All,” “Ride the Lightning,” “Master of Puppets,” “…And Justice For All,” “Metallica,” “Load,” “ReLoad,” “St. Anger,” and “Death Magnetic.”
Metallica, which has won nine Grammy Awards and has had five consecutive albums debut at number one on the “Billboard 200,” was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
