What is canadian Viagra?
Viagra is the trade name for a drug called Sildenafil. Viagra is one of a
class of drugs known as PDE-5 (Phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitors.
Viagra and the other PDE-5 inhibitors can help men with erectile
dysfunction (male impotence) by enhancing the erectile response when a
man is sexually stimulated. Aside from Viagra, the other drugs in this
class are Cialis (Tadalafil) and Levitra (Vardenafil).
Viagra (sildenafil) relaxes muscles and increases blood flow to particular areas of the body. Viagra is used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men. Another brand of sildenafil is Revatio, which is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension and improve exercise capacity in men and women.
Tablets and Dosage
Brand name film coated VIAGRA (sildenafil citrate) tablets by Pfizer are supplied in three dosages: 25 mg, 50 mg or 100 mg. Each blister pack contains 4, 8 or 12 tablets.
Initial Viagra dose is 50 mg, then the dosage is adjusted to 25mg or 100 mg Viagra, as needed. Tablets are taken 30-60 minutes before sexual activity.
In cases of problems with liver or kidneys, initial dosage is 25 mg.
Sildenafil is absolutely contraindicated with nitrates.
VIAGRA should not be used in men for whom sexual activity is
contraindicated by a doctor, e.g. due to severe cardiovascular disease,
unstable angina, severe heart failure; experiencing severe hepatic
impairment, hypotension, recent history of myocardial infarction or
stroke, and retinitis pigmentosa.
Sildenafil citrate is contraindicated in patients, suffering from non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), or who have previously had blood clots in the eyes.
Before taking Viagra
You should not use Viagra if you are allergic to sildenafil.
Do not take Viagra if you are also using a nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problems. This includes nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, and isosorbide mononitrate. Nitrates are also found in some recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate or nitrite ("poppers"). Taking Viagra with a nitrate medicine can cause a sudden and serious decrease in blood pressure.
