"Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" out shines even the first film. "Spider-man 3" has some serious competition. In a long line of Marvel Superhero films, "Silver Surfer" only scratches the surface of what's to come from Marvel films.
Follow up:
A new challenge awaits the Fantastic Four as an intergalactic Force is about to devour Earth. An alien herald called the Silver Surfer searches the galaxy for other worlds to prepare them for destruction, and it's up to the Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards), The Invisible Woman (Sue Storm), The Human Torch (Johnny Storm), and The Thing (Ben Grimm) to find the truth behind the Silver Surfer's plot. But they can't do it alone, they must join forces with an old enemy Dr. Doom to save the planet.
They don't call them the Fantastic Four for nothing, this is an elite superhero team, and in "Rise of the Silver Surfer" you can expect a thrilling adventure with eye-popping special effects, a great story, and well-timed comical moments.
All of your favorite characters from the first "Fantastic Four" return with the addition of the shiny Silver Surfer (played by Doug Jones, the actor behind the mask of characters such as Abe Sapien ("Hellboy"), Pan and the Pale Man ("Pan's Labyrinth"). All of the actors (Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon and Kerry Washington) worked well together; the chemistry between the actors is just right, and the voice of Laurence Fishburne added depth to the man in silver.
Unlike its counterparts like “Batman” and the “Spiderman” trilogy, which bare emotional story lines and somewhat dark overtones, "Rise of The Silver Surfer" is more of a light hearted and ultra fun action adventure that you shouldn't take too seriously. If you over analyze this film you will be disappointed. The story works, the FX works and the characters are fun. In my opinion, "F4 2" is one of the best superhero films out so far. It's worth the ticket price.
