Releasing her debut album "All I Have" in 2002, Amerie produced a successful single, "Why Don't We Fall In Love."
Follow up:
The unfortunate thing is even with the success of that single, she became another unappreciated singer/song writer. Many thought she would disappear into the background. Then, she spit out her second album in 2005 called "Touch," executive produced by Amerie and Lenny Nicholson. She quickly gained respect and was put on the map. Listeners finally took notice. Now the producer/singer/song writer/actress (yes, that's right, add actress to the list) is co-CEO of Feenix Entertainment. Amerie is showing that she will not stop.
Her third album, "Because I Love It," is a mixture of 70's, 80's, and 90's flavored music. A mixed tape version is also offered hosted by DJ Clue, and it pumps out more of a club atmosphere. For the mixed tape version, there are some recycled tracks, for example Jay-Z's "Show Me What You Got" is the background music for Amerie's "Who Loves You". "Because I Love It Mixed Tape Vol. 1" serves as a sort of an audio-biography, with brief snippets of her life story in between tracks. "Because I Love It" is due out this year, and I believe it's going to be a great year for Amerie.
