You've heard of the "Hyphy Movement" as started by Keak Da Sneak and E-40. Well, there seems to be a new movement forming right before our ears. What is it? The "Sexy Movement" as coined by Justin Timberlake. And guess who's joining the movement....Robin Thicke. That's right … the son of well known actor Alan Thicke (Growing Pains).

The Album
"The Evolution of Robin Thicke" is officially his second solo effort and it definitely hold it's own with Justin Timberlake and similar artists. The CD is now in stores, and if you haven't heard it or bought it by now, you're missing the whole "sexy movement" altogether. Robin's voice is sultry and actually more mature than Justin Timberlake. And considering the style and genre in which he sings, his voice fits perfectly over the custom made tracks.
The album is charged with hot rhythms with help from super producers Pharrell Williams and partner in crime Chad Hugo -- together known as "The Neptunes". Robin Thicke created an album that not only competes with Justin's album "Future Sexy/Love Sounds", but gives Timberlake fans an alternative, in a market that is pretty much taken over by Mr. Timberlake.
The ladies will especially love the track "Lost Without U" with its sexy bossa nova styled sway. On this track, Thicke lets the ladies know that sometimes men like to be on the receiving side of the sexy compliments just as much as they do. Another standout track is "Wanna Love U Girl" driven by the Neptunes, which tilts on the side of you know who.
Over all "The Evolution of Robin Thicke" is a welcomed disturbance in the pop genre force and is sure to satisfy even the most hardcore Timberlake follower.
Live Performance
I was in the audience when Robin Thicke opened for John Legend at the Warfield Theater on November 18, 2006. Thicke did a bang up job. Robin is a culmination of Prince, Michael Jackson, and Justin Timberlake all rolled into one.
Lasting almost an hour, Robin was giving the audience a taste of what they can expect from the new album. Many may not remember him back in 2003 when he hit it big with the album "A Beautiful World" and spawned the singles, "When I Get You Alone" and "Cherry Blue Skies." which launched him into the spot light.
Thicke's performance on stage is unbelievably energetic. He can stoke up a crowd and make them rise to their feet. And on the other side make the ladies swoon. Eat you heart out Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke is a new force to be reckoned with.
